Born in Sassari on june 12, 1981, he’ s considered one of the new blues guitar talents in Italy.
His musical research and his growing goes from the electric to the acoustic blues. After the success at the Narcao Blues Festival contest “Blues From Sardinia” with his band Blujuice, new doors and new musical experiences are opened for Francesco, like when he opened the John Mayall’s show in Narcao on 2004.
Beyond the electric blues projects, from 2004 Francesco appeared in acoustic version like One Man Band, his preferred musical way.
In clubs and theatres he plays a repertory that goes from Robert Johnson to Keb’ Mo’ and Robben Ford, from Horace Silver’s swing to personal blues version of Neil Young and Jimi Hendrix songs, until his own compositions that mixed the styles of his musical evolution, singing and playing acoustic guitar, dobro, harp, banjo, lap steel, kazoo and, for some arrangements, playing with the help of a loop station.
His acoustic project starts from the respect of Delta Blues tradition and evolve to a mix of traditional blues, swing, soul, rock and funky, atmospheres that we can breathe in Francesco’s first album “Blues Journey”, produced by Groove Company and presented on July 2007.
The Sardinian bluesman plays in several prestigious festivals:
“Narcao Blues Festival” at Narcao on 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, “Piacenza Jazz Fest” on 2005 here he’s put among the new six talents of italian jazz, “Acoustic Guitar International Meeting” at Sarzana(SP), where he represented the A.D.G.P.A. of Italy on may 2006, “Migrazioni Blues” at Piacenza onmay 2006, “International Buskers Festival” at Pennabilli (PU) on june 2006, “Lario Jazz & R’n’b Festival” on the Lake of Como on july 2006, “Musica sulle Bocche” at S.Teresa di Gallura (SS) on july 2006, “Lodi Blues Festival - Winter Session” on january 2007, “Dal Mississipi al Po” at Piacenza on may 2007, “Subiaco Rock & Blues Festival” at Subiaco (Roma) on august 2007, “Lodi Blues Festival - Summer Session” on august 2007, "Dromos Festival" at Nurachi (OR) on november 2007, "Out of the Blue's Festival" at Samedan (Switzerland) on january 2008, winner of the festival contest, "Dal Mississipi al Po" at Piacenza on may 2008, "Blues in Idro" at Milan on june 2008.
It’s in these important stages that Francesco opened shows for world famous artists like John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, The Derek Trucks Band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Otis Grand, Dirk Hamilton, Junior Watson, John Nemeth Band, Albie Donnelly, Tolo Marton Band, Ana Popovic, Bernard Allison and duets with masters like Guy Davis, London Community Gospel Choir, Nerak Roth Patterson, Otis Grand, Sugar Blue, Gigi Cifarelli, Paolo Bonfanti, Ptah Brown e Fabio Treves, Ponty Bone, Erja Lyytinen, Kasey Landsale e Grayson Capps.
From october 2007 Francesco is member of the songwriter's band Davide Van De Sfroos.
